Growler from the brewery poured into a pint glass.

Appearance is dark dark red/amber, very cloudy and opaque, with a small white head with good retention and minimal lacing.

Smell is awesome! You get hops right away, very fruity, almost bubblegum/grapefruit hops in the nose. They say this is brewed with simcoe and an "experimental hop variety", so not sure which the melon-y bubblegum is coming from. Good malt presence coming as well.

Taste is great as well. A sweet malt backbone with the fruity hops as described above. For how strong this beer is (7% ABV) it is masked well. Medium bodied with moderate bitterness.

Overall, I would definitely drink this again. This was my third growler from the brewery so obviously it was good! Hopefully they brew this one again sometime soon.

Growler obtained at the brewery. Served in various DC Brau glassware. Beer is dark red with a tan head, moderate carbonation, decent retention, minimal lacing.

Aroma is apple-y mild malt and a rough CTZ hops sort of earthiness. Nice.

Beer is medium in body, grinding hop presence, moderate bitterness. Nice malt backbone. Earthy mild pine hops. I'd have it again.
