On the label it has a best before date of March 2012. This is from Lot A (not sure what that means). I originally had this on draft at the 2011 Zythos Festival and enjoyed it very much I purchased a bottle and successfully brought it back with me to the USA in one piece. Also on the label it says - Amber blond beer with a delicious creamy foam. Non-filtered, non-pasteurized beer with an intense hop flavor.
Poured from a 750mL green bottle into a tulip. Pours a hazy dark gold orange color with a nice head and descent amount of lacing.
Aromas of pleasant bitter hops and slightly spicy.
Has a really pleasant and well balanced hops taste. There is a nice sweetness to help balance out the bitter hops. Some earthy notes too.
I would say this is medium/full bodied brew. Has a long lasting pleasant bitter aftertaste.
I really enjoyed this beer because this can be drank on a warm day or a cold night. It has great versatility and is very pleasant to drink. For me it was what a I would want Belgian IPAs to be - a perfect amount of hopping and bitterness, that extra kick of alcohol and signature Belgian yeast.
