Pours a fairly clear, appetizing golden color. The fairly fluffy white head dissipates after a couple of minutes to leave lacing that hangs around for awhile.
Smell is hops first, herbal and hinting at lemon rind, with a nice hit of bread yeast and a hint of honeyed malt.
Taste is far hopper and cleaner than earlier editions: very herbal upfront, with lemon and grapefruit rind quickly following. White pepper, cracker and wheat-bread malt flavors, and yeast spice on the mid-palate. Finish is fairly dry, citrusy, and spicy, with a lingering taste of malt breadiness and yeast. A much-improved brew over earlier iterations, this is a damn fine IPA that verges on imperial/double IPA territory
