Nice, golden-amber color, decent peristence from the lacing, and minimal chill haze. Smell is very inviting indeed, with hints of tea, wine, cardamom, citrus, dried apricots, and a hint of seasonally-appropriate nuttiness. The flavors aren't quite as nuanced as the aroma, but still very good: a first hit of black tea and a touch of nuttiness from the malts are quickly followed by a burst of dried apricots and candied citrus peel from the hops, with hints of cardamom and pepper. Finish is fairly dry and nutty, with that apricot/citrus/cardamom triad peristing alongside ghosts of pepper. All in all more reminiscent of an ESB in many respects, but an altogether well-crafted beer.
