Cask at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Very dark brown colour, nearly black. Moderate beige head. The aroma has notes of moderately roasted malts and mild coffee, hints of wood and smoke. The flavour is very dry and the beer is light bodied, notes of mild coffee, wood and hints of smoke again.

Pours dark brown into a tulip glass. Offwhite head has moderate retention and leaves some sudsy lacing behind.
Aroma is nutty and roasted malt with a strong smell of treacle and burnt sugar.
Flavour is very much the same with more of that roasted malt and burnt treacle focus. There is also a raisin and fig element to the beer with slight cola and chicory on the aftertaste.
Feel is medium with minimal carbonation.
Overall it's nothing really special. Bland and sessionable.
