Cask at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Dark ruby colour, low off-white head. Roasty aroma, notes of cold coffee, hints of ashes. Dry flavour, notes of cold coffee and ashes again, the mouthfeel is rather thin. As the Biblical manna that God "miraculously" provided for the Israelites in the desert (actually a natural plant secretion, according to more recent research) was reported to be "sweet like honey", I expected Kinn Manna to be a somewhat sweeter and richer beer than this. Drinkable of course, but not Kinn’s most exciting offering.

Tasted from 0.75 bottle, 7 months old.
A - dark brown with amber hue. forms a thin lacing of a head, with creamy texture.
S - roasty, chocolate, a hint of coffe, a mild hint of alcohol,
T - At the start you get a balanced roasted malt profile, midway through the chocolate and sweeter tones are accentuated - finish is dominated by the bitterness of the roasted malts. Nice balance between finishing sweetness/bitterness
M - Carbonation is medium-low , perfect to my taste. Body is medium-low, soft and pleasant.
O - A great example of this style, does everything it should do with none of the faults (unbalanced, tannic harshness, watery) that I think are often present in interpretations of the style. Will definitely buy this again!
