'Extra sterk staut' 9% 75cl BB 09/01/31. Ex Vinmonopolet in downtown Oslo
L- Inky black, 1cm tan head, holds well.
S- Deep roasty-toasty malts, charring with a hint of coffee.
T- Follows the smell closely then into notably strong dry hops. The 'shock of which' seems to make me spontaneously sneeze (not the 1st time, takes a thumper of a beer though!). This is deep and pungent, Dark dry cocoa/chocolate which lingers like a 90% chocolate bar.
F- Deep, dark, wintery. Perfect for slow-sipping
O- A very robust beer for an already gutsy 9% That said it comes over as 10-11+% to me. Sub-zero February in Oslo seems like a goof time and place to enjoy it.

750 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 9.0%. Black colour, large beige head. Aroma of roast malts, dark chocolate and mild coffee. Distinct roast malts in the moderately sweet flavour, notes of dark bitter chocolate, burnt breadcrumbs and strong coffee, also distinct bittering hops.
