1394th Review on BA
Bottle to Carnival Cruise Red Glass
12 oz

No bottle date.

John Gonzalez brought this from MX for me.

App- Dark amber mixed with brown like a walnut varnish and a healthy two finger head. Quick receding to a pond layer. A few dots of cling.

Smell- A bit of a clean mix between a malty amber and a small nutty brown. Wasnt offensive just kinda there.

Taste- A bit better than I was hopping for. A small malt backbone with a smooth kinda creamy, nutty flavor.

Mouth- A bit thin medium body with a small creamy carbonation. Just kinda awkward and nutty.

Drink- Nice to try something from outside the US sometimes, makes me glad I live in So.Cal where good beer abounds.

I really wanted to like this beer. But unfortunately artisenal/craft brewing doesn't necessarily equate to excellence.

Beautiful amber colour with a decent head, carbonation level and mouthfeel.

Although the label lists only malted barley, hops & water, I would swear the aroma is mostly corn. The taste also has a corn-syrupy sweetness, followed with a decently bitter finish. Does not have the well-rounded caramelized malt taste I associate with red/amber ales.

Perhaps something wrong with this bottle, or with my taste buds, but I would swear this should be classified as an adjunct!
