New Boswell Brewery & Tap Room

 

 

A must visit if in Richmond as it's the freshest beer in town. I was there on a Friday at 5pm and it was 25% full, mostly locals and 30-somethings. It had more of a coffee shop feel than a brewery. The brewery itself is very small which is fine but space is limited. The service was excellent and the server was knowledgeable. Six beers on tap. Food is available from adjacent restaurants. I'll visit again if in the area.

I think many are being far too hard on this place, or perhaps their beers are improving. I tried a double IPA, a Beire De Garde, and the Peacemaker IPA. I found them all at least average, the double IPA even better.

The place is nice inside ,but tiny, and kind of difficult to find owing to lack of signage. No food is served, but you can get pizza etc. delivered. Erin, our server was intelligent, and fun to talk to.

Worth checking out if in Richmond.
