On tap at taproom in Tofino and then 16 ounce can purchased at the same.
Pours out a clear orange amber with a finger of ever so slightly off white foamy head.
Caramel malt and ripe pineapple on the nose with tropical fruit, a hint of strawberry and some earthy and piney notes.
Initial burst of fruitiness and some caramel malt sweetness on the palate with pineapple and generic citrus, followed shortly by some resinous piney and slightly weedy hops and a moderately aggressive herbal bitterness.
Sticky moderately full mouthfeel with medium carbonation and a lingering bitter(sweet)ness.

Tropical stone fruit notes

Very resinous and hoppy with slight grainy notes that comes up in between sips

Sticky finish withs slightly dry aftertaste

Medium bodied

This beer hides the 9% abv almost too well, with body that reminds you of caramel that finishes dry, make you want to sip more, it can really crept up on you.

Pretty good!

Poured from a 473ml can. Canned on 01/04/2023
I would class this beer as a B.C. Double West Coast IPA, this has a wonderful hop finish to it.
The 9% ABV is well hidden.

How this is a 9% beer is beyond me. I loved everything about this Double IPA. Best one out there.

Found it in a 473ml Can

Appearance - Pours an amber with four fingers of frothy white head.

Smell - earthy, leafy, piney, and tropical hops, hint of pine resin, grapefruit peel, pineapple, biscuity malts, lemon, and earthy yeast.

Taste - earthy, leafy, piney, and tropical hops upfront. The hint of pine, grapefruit peel and pineapple follow next. Then the lemon, biscuity malts, and earthy yeast finish the brew off.

Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Finishes sticky with the malts and hops lingering.

Overall - An enjoyable yet bold DIPA. The hops and malts work together to create a flavourful brew. A nice find at a local Co-op here in Cowtown!

650ml bottle - all the transcendental mumbo-jumbo in the label's marketing blurb kind of just sounds like getting hammered.

This beer pours a slightly hazy, medium copper amber colour, with four fingers of puffy, loosely foamy, and bubbly ecru head, which leaves a lot of streaky and chunky lace around the glass as it lazily dissipates.

It smells of grainy and biscuity caramel malt, toffee pudding, some orange, red grapefruit, and lemon citrus rind, a further indistinct tropical fruitiness, and more leafy, piney, and gently lit-up floral green hop bitters. The taste is gritty and grainy caramel malt, a lesser biscuity toffee sweetness, muddled domestic citrus rind, some pineapple and kiwi exotic fruity notes, a damp minerality, and more herbal, floral, and dank piney hoppiness.

The carbonation is pretty laid-back in its innocuous-seeming frothiness, the body a solid middleweight, and generally smooth, with a wee airy creaminess evolving as things warm up a bit at this particular juncture. It finishes off-dry, the big malt and lingering hops in a cute two-step of sorts.

Overall - this comes across as an affable enough version of the style, nice and balanced. Add to that the essentially integrated 18-proof wowee sauce quotient, and I may yet start babbling like I referred to earlier, up there. Anyways, good, good stuff!

Tofino Brewing 'Cosmic Wave DIPA' @ 9.0% , served from a 650 ml bottle & a 473 ml can
A-pour is gold from the bottle to a slight hazy gold in the glass with a small off-white head leaving a streaky lace along the pint/Spiegelau
S-big hops , not subtle , fruity esters , mostly mango
T-nice big tasting DIPA , very dry finish
MF-ok carbonation , big full body , leaving a very dryness on the palate , drink more
Ov-just an ok DIPA , big beer , slightly dissapointing , sampled alongside Russell 'Hop Therapy' & Stone 'Ruination'

Appearance. Pours a pretty clear peachy-gold with almost a finger of slightly off white head that fades to a skim but leaves some decent lace.

Smell. Big hops here! Sweet smelling with a ton of tropical fruit and mixed citrus rinds. Papaya, pineapple, lemon orange and grapefruit, a touch of cedar, and some smooth sweet caramel malts. Nice.

Taste. Again, lots of tropical fruits and bitter oily citrus rinds. There's some sweet grainy malts for sure, but the hops are big and fresh tasting and last a long time on the tongue. Long bitter finish.

Mouthfeel. Medium+ body, below medium amount of soft carbonation.

Overall. Great stuff. If you need a big hop fix, this is your beer.
