Pours a clear, gold color. 1/5 inch head of a white color. Slight retention and poor lacing. Smells of bacterial funk, citrus hops, hint of yeast, hint of earthy malt, and slight mango. Fits the style of an American Wild Ale. Mouth feel is sharp and crisp, with an average carbonation level. There is also a noticeable tartness and sourness. Tastes of bacterial funk, citrus hops, hint of yeast, hint of pine, hint of earthy malt, and slight mango. Overall, weak appearance, but good aroma, body, blend, and complexity.

A: The beer is very hazy pale yellow in color and has lots of yeast particles floating in suspension. It poured with a quarter finger high white head that died down, leaving a head consisting of large bubbles around the collar.
S: Light aromas of sourness are present in the nose along with some hints of pale malts. Hints of tangerines are also noticeable.
T: Like the smell, the taste is citrusy—having flavors of lemons and tangerines—and some sourness. The citrusy flavors are not acidic or bitter.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: I found this beer to be quite drinkable because it was light in body and not that sour. It would make for a good selection during the summer months.

A: Pours a cloudy medium golden yellow in color with moderate to heavy amounts of active visible carbonation, significant amounts of large light colored particulates in suspension, and faint amounts of honey colored highlights. The beer has a finger tall foamy white head that slowly reduces to a medium thick film covering the entire surface of the beer and a medium thick ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Moderate aromas of citrus/grapefruit and citrus/grapefruit pith hops over the top of light to moderate amounts of grainy malts and just a hint of tartness/sourness.

T: Upfront there is a light to moderate flavor of grainy and wheat malts with a light to moderate amount of tartness/sourness. That is followed by moderate flavors of citrus/grapefruit and citrus/grapefruit pith hops with a light amount of herbal hops. Minimal amounts of bitterness in the finish but there is overall a light to moderate amount of tartness/sourness and just a hint of funkiness.

M: Light to medium bodied with moderate to heavy amounts of carbonation. Moderate amounts of acidic prickliness.

O: Very enjoyable, not overly sour/tart and a nice hop presence in a wild pale ale. Definitely glad I grabbed this one and I would have another of these given the opportunity.

330 ml bottle into tulip glass, best before 10/31/2015. Pours fairly cloudy golden yellow color with a 1 finger dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big lemon, lime, orange peel, passion fruit, pear, pineapple, mango, wheat, cracker, pepper, hay, straw, grass, light funk, and yeast earthiness. Very nice aromas with good complexity and balance of citrus/tropical hops, fruity/earthy yeast, and pale malt notes; with good strength. Taste of lemon, lime, orange peel, passion fruit, pear, pineapple, mango, wheat, cracker, pepper, hay, straw, grass, light funk, and yeast earthiness. Fair amount of earthy yeast spiciness and fruity/citrus peel tartness/bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, lime, orange peel, passion fruit, pear, pineapple, mango, wheat, cracker, pepper, hay, straw, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/tropical hops, fruity/earthy yeast, and pale malt flavors; with a great crisp tartness/spiciness/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and light-medium bodied; with a very smooth, crisp, and fairly acidic mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with zero warmth lingering after the finish as expected of 4.7%. Overall this is a very nice sour pale ale style. All around good complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/tropical hops, fruity/earthy yeast, and pale malt flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink with the balanced acidity. A very enjoyable offering.

Aroma is a mix of citrus/tropical fruit/sour and slight musty notes. The flavor is fruit, citrus, malts, mild sweetness and a long and very tart/sour finish.

a sour session pale, a neat collaboration, and a tasty beer on the whole, although way way different than what i expected in terms of the sourness. its ugly int he glass, lots of dark brown yeast sediment making murky a pale beer without a lot of head. sort of gray and dreary. it smells awesome though, nice and fruity hoppy, with a curious sour profile that really isnt sour at all. doesnt taste like lacto fermentation or brett, unlike either of those profiles we are used to. maybe its kettle soured, maybe its a blend, its hard to nail down, but acidity is really mild, more of a citric funk, i quite like it, its insanely drinkable. the hops are really bright and a welcomed spirited element in a weird beer. the grain is off to me, its maybe wheat focused, but its watery and almost flavorless and sloppy. its just weird, and it also has all that yeast leftover, the last sip here is pretty gross, but i like it for being so strange and different. have had almost no beer from the buxton folks, so its neat to get that over here, and the idea of a sour pale with this abv is very attractive to me, but the execution is only okay. not my favorite, if a home brewer gave me this i would be put off, but because of who is involved in its production, i am thinking they know something i dont...
