really dope version of their hoppy berliner, on tap at backcountry, where else for something like this right?! i believe it is done with chardonnay grapes, possibly white wine barrels too, but i am not sure of the details, i just know it is incredibly unique and radically different than their base far skyline, which i liked a lot, but this is on an entirely different level! i liked everything about this, its simple and awesome, crystal clear natural golden color, bright but not too shiny, with a lasting white head that doesnt make a statement, but also doesnt go away. aroma of fresh green grapes, its not as vinous as i thought it might be, leading me to think its fruit not barrels, some sweetness evident from it, honey and fuller malt sugar too, cool, different, clean on the sour side but overall not that interesting from a fermentation standpoint. flavor is shockingly good, really surprises and impresses me, like juice right away, sweet red apple juice, the kind of non alcoholic sparkling grape juice you get on new years as a kid, and some real sugar with it, but the sour cuts it perfectly, it couldnt be more obvious grape, and i love it. its hardly acidic with the leftover sugar too, not too much of either in this balance, and the grape just pops, its first and last on the palate. this would be cool with more funk to it, a more developed yeast profile to add some complexity, but its hard to complain, its so unique anyway. i always like the beers these guys make, so inspired and tidy, i wish more of them came out this way. dont miss this one, it really is a very different type of beer/wine hybrid!

Hazy gold/yellow colour. Heavy white wine, passion fruit, citrus, lemon, and tart nose. The chardonnay barrels really contribute a wine-ness to the flavour. Very tart, passion fruit, lemon, clean, dry finish.
