2022 version is 13.6%. 16oz can from Salt Horse. Dark golden, light cloudiness, fine head. Malty aroma, very hoppy, alcohol heat. Taste is sweet before getting obliterated by the sheer heavy hoppiness of this beer, boozy bitterness, malty, heavy. Finishes with a burn. I like it.

330 ml bottle, vintage 2015from Vinmonopolet Kvadrat. ABV is 10.0%. Deep golden to amber colour, floaties in the glass. Moderate white head. Moderate aroma of piney hops and dusty malts. Medium sweet and alcoholic flavour, with loads of piney hops. Not a favourite of mine.

Bottle from Eebria. Nice and resinous DIPA. Not fresh but still quite a lot of hops - mostly spicy orange marmalade, cut through with some sharp citrus. All held up by a big sweet backbone. Very nice though nothing quite beats a fresh bottle of Axe Edge.

Clear, light amber color with off-white head. Aroma is strong on the hops, piney, earthy, somehow woody even. Taste starts really malty, sweet but the hops fight along and try to shine through. Still, the malty side is stronger, creating unbalance. Finish has a weird, wet cardboard off-taste. You can definitely get the alcohol warmth. Not my kind of DIPA.

A: Light copper. Small but clingy head.
S: Piney. Very piney.
T: Cor, even more piney than it smells. Particularly toasty and the hops have some of that anaesthetising quality, and they also leave a bitter resinous aftertaste. Not as much orange marmalade as I was expecting, which makes a nice change for a DIPA. Just enough sweetness to keep it drinkable.
O: It's not all lead guitar and no rhythm, but by god it's resinous. Not the most refreshing beer, but nice and restorative. I certainly enjoyed it but it was not the perfect DIPA.
