330ml Bottle from Good Spirits Co. Wine & Beer, Glasgow (£4.90):
Very nice stuff from Buxton, this one was a very strong but also very sweet offering that was dominated by dark fruits & sugars, the caramel flavours & darker malts taking more of a backseat here. The alcohol was well hidden given the strength of the beer & it proved quite a rich offering but the soft carbonation & nice balance made it an enjoyable one too. Definitely a good beer & one that I liked but it's probably not one to rank alongside some of the better Belgian brewed quadrupels out there & for that reason it's not likely to be one that I'd pick up again I'm afraid; still, it's one that is well worth trying if you get the chance.

Dark reddish brown mahogny beer, starts with a really decent head almost orange head.
Aroma is of stone fruit, maybe dried banana and apricots, lots of booze. There is a smell in this that I can't quite put my finger on that I'm overly keen on.
Quite heavy, very sweet and almost syrupy once some of the carbonation fades. Definitely caramel, toffee, demerea, touch of alcohol warmth.
Another nice beer from Buxton Brewery. Having tried many Belgian beers myself it seems pretty good and fairly Belgian in style to me. Nice to have a really good beer from a relatively new brewery that has been brewed fairly close to style and hasn't been messed around with beyond recognition.
