Light gold, no head. At first it smells a bit like cheese but this aroma goes away quickly. Then the flavour and aroma is about bourbon, lemon, and light tartness. It smells and tastes about like some fruity dry white wine. It reminds me a bit of vino verde from Portugal, a sparkling white wine but the carbonation is a bit higher. The tannins bring some astringency. It's a bit high in abv for a berlinner weiss but it's not boozy and the alcohol gently warms you. Overall an unique beer. What beer can be!

So weird I just had to buy one. 33 cl bottle dated 4-5-16, & my first taste of Buxton.
The pour is light yellow, visible carbonation, close to zero head. The nose brings out a strong vanilla note along with the more expected wheat, chaff, & acidic lemon. Pretty good & very interesting.
Bourbon Skyline claims to be inspired by the whiskey sour, my drink of choice in my youth, when the best beer around was Killian's Irish Red (ergo, I did not often drink beer). The comparison is apt, were one to create a whiskey sour with a 8/92 whiskey/sour ratio. Whiskey is definitely present & up front, but the legs are cut out from under it by the tart, lemony, mildly acetic sour that comes hard on its boozy heels. Mid palate arrives with oak, citrus, mineral water, honey. Finish is all tart whiskey.
Simply lovely. While others are digging ever more deep for a different line of barrel-aged stouts, well, what the hell is this? A success, is what it is. Great barrel, excellent beer, great combo. Highly recommended.

Clear golden color with white head, looks like a lager. Aroma is really fresh with white grapes, lime, tequila, celery... really complex. Taste follows with lime, lemon... some kind of fresh bourbon (unlike any other BBA beer I had). Tart but not really sour, a bit of caramel sweetness from the bourbon but overall it's surprisingly fresh. Light body with medium carbonation, dry and easy drinking. This is something really unique. I didn't think it would make sense to age berliner weisse in a bourbon barrel but it turned out fantastic. All the flavors complement each other in a fantastic way and the ABV is also hidden perfectly.
