L - Pitch black with a small mocha head
S - chocolate, peat smoke, some red berries acidity
T - the dry coffee and chocolate notes make way to the astringent peat smokiness of the beer. Some mineral notes and an earthy bitterness
M - low carbonation, slightly thick mouthfeel
O - An unique barrel aged imperial stout. Nothing near the usual bourbon barrel aging, Buxton manages to create a new trend of Scotch (even if this one is Irish) aged imperial stouts following other great European craft breweries and it's quite enjoyable.
Better as it warms up
