Pitch black, almost no head
Very roasted character on the nose.
The taste is great with a big peaty presence, cocoa powder, tobacco, leather, burnt coffee.

The mouthfeel is very thick and smooth.

Very nice peated whisky barrel aged imperial stout

Pours a motor oil, black mahagony colour. Clean peat brickette aroma, with a sweet cloying undertone. Peaty throughout. Heavy sweet peaty body, dark bitter choco malts, bread crusts, and a lingering burnt grain char finish. Big beer. Mild/negligible carbonation.

Pours a pitch black coloration with a small, creamy head. Smell is intense peat smoke with hints of caramel malt, chocolate and dark fruit. Taste follows the nose, with an intensely peaty character and notes of roasted, caramel malt, chocolate, tobacco, coffee, licorice and dark fruit: fig, dates, as well as some earthy and lightly tannic oak notes and just a hint of herbal hops. Finishes with a light bitterness and some heavy peat smoke lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a rich body and light carbonation.

Rich, complex and intensely peaty, this is quite a treat if you enjoy Islay Single Malt Scotch, although the peat may be too much for some. It's also quite boozy, which made it difficult for me to finish the bottle. Definitely a sipper, but all in all I still enjoyed this quite a bit more than their Highland Scotch BA stout.
