Our first forray into Barrel Ageing beers, and our first Special Reserve.
This Special Edition of our regular brew “TSAR” has been aged on oak for six months prior to bottling to impart extra flavour, aroma and character.
Huge flavours of roasted malt, chocolate and molasses combine with a little spice and the signature Buxton hop presence. Further complexity is added from the barrel ageing, bringing notes of vanilla, sweet oak and plums.
Only 112 bottles of this beer ever existed, if you have one, you are lucky. They were filled by hand on Thursday August 2nd, 2012 - during the London 2012 Olympic games.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
