A: Glowing sunset orange color with a dense clarity reveals an extremely light instance of effervesce. The head is low profile, a light sandy-beige, with a short rate of retention.
S: The nose is pleasant, fresh grapefruit, pine, with underlying notes of tropical pineapple fruitiness. A strong indication of aroma gives this some respect. Sweet caramel and piney resin come on the close.
T: Dry grapefruit and pine for flavor, nice level of bitterness, yet still remains smooth and bittering. Warming toasted grain base with flashes of pineapple fruitiness. Things end with a spicy bite of citrus.
M: Malty, creamy, with a medium body and a warming of grapefruit, pine, and spicy citrus. Leaves a flowery coating of dried grapefruit residual on the tongue with a nice dryness.
O: Overall loads of dry grapefruit lets this live up to its name. Respectable bitterness that lingers about after the swallow. Got me a growler and well worth it. Very surprised this hasn’t been discovered yet by the locals (or maybe they are just keeping it to themselves).
