330ml bottle bought from Lighthouse Wines, Jordanstown
Poured a nice deep amber gold colour with a slight haze. Slightly off white head with hints of copper poured pretty loose and fizzy then faded almost instantly to light wispy coating with thickish edging... very light carbonation... some patchy lacing...
Aroma - Big blast of juicy tart fruits (oranges, ripe mangoes, pears, lemons) followed by quite a surprising amount of sweet caramel malts, strong piney resin and citrus hopiness, garlic, tobacco, quite rubbery, honey, cut wet grass / hay...
Taste - Lots of piney, grassy and citrus hop bitterness, juicy tart fruits (strong grapefruit, lemons, pears, bitter oranges), nice caramel malts and notes of floral honey balance out the hops, quite herbal, some liquorice, metallic, earthy tobacco notes, salty notes, quite perfumed, slight heat from the alcohol...
M&D - Fairly smooth with a little oiliness in the background then some sharpness comes through... full bodied... pretty drinkable for 9% although you do notice the alcohol
Overall - A supremely good DIPA - big, bold and full of flavour... recommended..

On tap at Irish Craft Beer Fest 2015, Dublin.
Rusty gold with film. 3.75
Big sour orange and papaya. 3.75
Speck of apricot croissant and sugar, then tangerine, pine, and mango. 4
Floral end and dirty linger.
Salty, medium, oily. 4
Pretends it’s straightforward but there are specks of flint and dank and herb. Not Hop Priority but not far off. 4.25
