Pours very dark brown, almost black. Aromas of coffee, roasted grains, but fruit and sweet smell. Lighter tasting than expected. Fruity Belgian yeasts are present alongside coffee and chocolate after notes. Slightly bitter finish.

On tap at Beer House, Dublin.
Chocolate ruby-black with nitro off-white head that webs. 3.75
Roast, compost, and caramel on the nose - faintly. 3.5
Brownie and cola, then mild licorice, carob, and smoke. 3.5
Light, crisp, clean. 3.75
Belgian how? This is watery and under roasted for a stout of any description, never mind the peppery yeast phenols I’m supposed to be looking for. Maybe the nitro and serving temp is killing the flavor depth? At any rate, this is drinking like an overstrength Dry Irish (the literature calls is an Irish Export), so I’m clearly missing whatever is supposed to be going on here. 3.75
