Appearance: Poured from a 750 ml bottle, 4 mm head that does not dissipate. Appearance is cloudy straw/orange, more like a Weissbier, likely due to the presence of the Brett yeast.
Smell: interesting, smells like a cross between a weiss and a hop heavy IPA. Very complex. Getting raisin, pear and citrusy hops.
Taste: up front it has a familiar IPA sense. But as one swallows the yeast comes through for an almost creamy Weiss experience. Very rare, but welcome. Getting big citrus initially but changes into stone fruits and pear, that lingers on palate for quite a while.
Mouthfeel: as stated above ot has a creamy texture that you only notice when it is swallowed. It lasts for a while. The hop taste actually hangs around longer than the Weiss traditional tastes.
Overall: Definitely worth trying. Hard to place. It's a whopper of a beer @ 8.3 % and 750 ml. This is one that larger drinkers might veer from, but anyone who like either hop heavy IPA or Wheat upfront Weiss should definitely check out. You will certainly see what you enjoy and also appreciate the nuance of something you cant quite place!
