This beer is ubiquitous in Norway. Had a (relatively cheap) pint at a great burger joint in Moss. Similar to the Carlsberg flavor, nothing remarkable. Just a traditional mass produced lager for easy drinking.

This was my favourite Oslo pilsener many years ago when Frydenlund Bryggeri existed in its own right, but Ringnes' revival of the brew is not bad - it just isn't quite as fresh and spritzy as i remember it. (But then my memory isn't what it used to be, either...) Well, this is a light golden, medium hopped pils, perhaps more rounded than a pils ought to be, well worth sampling but nothing that will linger in your dreams.

One of the best Norwegian. Very classical.

Best beer and close to a fine champagne a beer can get! Safeway stores used to carry it but now its unavailable! Miss it very much!

Fydenlund Pilsner…..on tap at the bar at Radisson Scandinavia Hotel in Oslo, Norway
Noticed this one along with Ringnes and thought it might’ve been a competitor. Apparently it’s the same exact brewer. Oh well.
Appearance-pale golden color, thick white head about one finger high. Decent carbonation and in the glass it was served in, not bad looking.
Smell-airy with a mix of light grain and alcohol, more of a straw mix, again fairly clean but inoffensive.
Taste/Mouthfeel-light mouthfeel, grain appears and leaves quickly, clean all around, alcohol and adjuncts as well, flavors of corn drift in an out, final straw taste on the tongue for the finish.
Overall-inoffensive but just another Euro Pale that is indistinguishable from many others. A shame.

A: clear golden, not too much head
S: like rotten (okay, maybe overripe AT BEST) apricots
T: no taste upfront, like drinking water, followed by a light malt finish
M: an explosion of carbonation, it's actually refreshingly fizzy
T: would not do this again, would rather have a green can of Carlsberg
