A bit of an Australian supermarket beer, this beer is brewed in Japan by Orion Breweries on behalf of Pinnacle Drinks, who own the rights to a lot of beers sold in BWS and Dan Murphys. I'm assuming this is to compete with the popularity of Asahi and to a lesser extent Sapporo in the Australian Asian Beer market.
Look: Bronze-golden appearance, think white foamy head. Almost orange-golden in appearance. Darker than most Japanese beers i've had. Looks more enticing than your typical Australian adjunct lager.
Smell: Rice, grassy hops, sweet honey like malt,
Taste: Sweet malt that has a honey like flavour. Decent bitterness throughout the sip, smooth dryness at the end of the mouthful.
Feel: Smooth, little bit creamy I'm guessing from the rice in the beer, good carbonation, very drinkable.
Overall: A pretty decent lager. I've always had a fondness with Japanese beers, finding their lagers quite smooth and refreshing. More so than Australian and American adjunct lagers. They're on part with good quality European pales. This is quite sessionable, very smooth, very quaffable. Would pick this up over a 6 pack of Australian generic lager.
