I visited Duckstein yesterday with high hopes. The place is nicely set up with a German Biergarten, giving an authentic atmostphere which I really liked. Given it was a Saturday night I was surprised to see there was no entertainment - but I thought the beer would make up for that. However I was a bit shocked at the price. $9 a beer, and that is 0.4cl. It is very steep and I was disappointed that they didnt use a more acceptable measure (i.e. middie or pint for Western Australia). If you want 0.5cl for the same price you need to BUY a special glass for $10. The food tasted ok but wasnt anything special and the portions were small. I had a veal schnitzel with potatoes and cabbage for $25 and it was passable.
I had a dunkel styled beer which was tasty and a unfiltered pils (cloudy pils on their menu) which was average.
I will not be rushing to come back, not just because it burns a big hole in your pocket.
