Tried at the Local Taphouse, Darlinghurst.
Reddish dark brown colour, with a filmy but fine head of yellow beige foam. Ok lacing, not huge. Very clear. Not bad, but not terribly exciting.
Some darkness on the note. Very light, and not very robust. Some maltiness, subtle and sweet, it's nice, but not terribly exciting again.
Taste is better. A nice robust dark malt character with roasted vegemite notes. Quite clean despite this, with very little residual sweetness. Pretty dry on the finish. Not bad.
It's not bad, the clean finish adds to the drinkability, but it has a lack of character that is a bit disappointing. Not a huge beer. But drinkable enough.
