A red wine BA Stout, that meld chocolate roast with with toffee and caramel . the red wine is done in a way that complements the chocolate not sour or overly sweet , nicely done.

Interesting take on a barrel-aged stout. I usually do not associate red wine and stouts, but when I think of it, it makes sense. Dark chocolate goes great with the right red, so why not a stout. The barrel comes through more in the aroma, but adds a nice tannin and fruit note to the base stout. A very enjoyable experience.

Thanks to Jeff for this novelty. 32oz. growler into a Cigar City snifter. Shared with schen9303.
Pours no head. Beer is pitch black with thick, oily legs and very spotty and sparse head with little cling. Average.
Nose is smoke, dark chocolate, roast peat, tobacco and vinous and boozy accents. Decent.
Opens chocolate, roast, smoke and ash. Sweet red fruit with hints of peat and tobacco in the middle mixed with more chocolate, brownie and fudge. Ends more fudge and roast. Same in a lingering aftertaste. Delicious!
Medium to full bodied with moderate carbonation. Smooth and chewy in the mouth and goes down rich and luxurious. Finishes messy and accented with a lingering, rich and boozy aftertaste. Really good.
I've never heard of Castle Danger but if this is one of their offerings, they're headed in a good direction. Quite unique and tasty!

Tons of red wine and tannins right up front. Has a smokey and roasted flavor that I didn't get out of the gentleman. Red berries, toffee, chocolate, and caramel.
