Choice Pils is brewed in the tradition of classic German pilsners with our own dangerous twists. We use find German malts and pure Lake Superior water for a great start, and finish with Saaz and Cascade hops for a floral, citrusy, and spicy zing. We chose to blend a classic European style with American craft brewing ingenuity. Here's to making good choices. Prost!

Can. White head with lace. Clear golden color.
Grainy, bready, and toasted malts. Some bread nuts. Earthy and grassy hops. Zesty. Crisp, clean, light bodied. Feels like there may be noble hops here. Has a German lager vibe. Very solid.

Pours a clear bright straw yellow, large white cap that dissipates quickly but leaves generous lacing for the style. Aroma is biscuits and faint citrus. Flavor is sweet bready malt and light European hops. Feel is light and well carbonated. Overall a fine beer.

Appearance: Pours a clear, medium golden color with a strong clingy and sudsy head. SRM of 9 (4.00)
Aroma: Strong aromas of sweet mango & lemon up top. Then a huge bread, butter, with corn and honey. Light grass/flower, and some notes of zesty lemon. I could maybe convince myself some pineapple or mango on the nose too, with almost a bit of Belgian spice of clove and coriander. As it warms definitely more mango and less Belgian quality. (4.25)
Flavor: Flavor followed the nose with some strong honey mango & lemon upfront. There's some lemon, light orange, and even more honey mango. Bread, some flower and yeast in the middle. Then some lingering light lemon and honey sweetness on the tongue. Milky and creamy too. Leans sweet. (4.00)
Feel: Medium-bodied. Excellent carbonation. A sweet honey mango on the palate to finish. Extremely palatable. (4.50)
Compared with Dakota Pils: A stronger lemon presence. More hoppy. Also less salty and bready. Lighter bodied. Similar carbonation. Overall, its dryer, lighter, and cleaner.
Compared w/ Pivo Pils: A stronger and sweeter lemon presence. More corn and honey. Less dry and grassy.. Also more honey mango on the finish. Less carbonated and slightly heavier.
Compared w/ Fulton's Lonely Blonde 4/10/20: Pours a similar clear color with a stronger head. Stronger lemon and Belgian spice aromas. Less honey. Finishes with more yeasty wheat and less honey. Cleaner.
Compared to Surly Hell 4/25/20: Pours a lighter color. Stronger aromas. More lemon and honey sweetness. Less dry grain and flower. Finishes with sweeter lemon and less wheat. Winner: Surly
Compared to Stone's Tropic of Thunder Lager 5/2/20: Pours an identical color. Stronger aromas. More honey, mango, lemon flavors and less complex tropical bouquet. Heavier, sweeter, and less bitter.
Overall: A fantastic beer. Not sure if it's a German Pilsner or a honey-blonde ale. Excellent carbonation.Overall, lots of fruit. Mango, lemon, & honey hops and finishes rather sweet. Absolutely delicious and well made. It's got a lemon & mango zing! (Final Rating: 4.14)
*Should compare to Fulton Blonde*

This is advertised as an American Pilsner, so I took that into consideration. Poured from a can dated 10/24/2019. Appearance is clear, straw colored. Clean aroma certainly has the cascade hops front and center. Cascade is there on the flavor too, covers the more delicate grain and malt flavors that might otherwise come through. Pretty standard mouthfeel for a pils. Overall execution is spot on for what they are aiming for.
I dig an Americanized Pilsner (e.g. Shells Keller Pils), kind of fills the gap that used to be covered by a good pale ale that is now kinda hard to find in it's traditional form (for me, I know they're different styles in many ways). Take that into consideration with this review.

Cold from a can. Smell is corn, taste is corn with some hops bitterness as it finishes. Carbonation and some sweetness behind the scenes, some dryness but not bad.

12oz can. Canning date is stamped on can bottom as '11/27/18'.
Cloudy straw colored body. One finger of bright white head, which sticks around. Leaves behind a trail of lacing.
Aroma of bready hops and floral/citrus hops.
Taste of bready malts, and the citrus hops jump in really strongly. Both bite and spice from the hops.
Medium mouth feel. Very good supporting carbonation.
Kind of an odd pilsner with the high presence of fruity citrus hops. Quite refreshing, but highly unconventional. It takes an American craft brewer to hop up a pilsner in this way.

Very hop forward Pils with a ton of flavor and aroma.
Pours a bright, slightly hazed yellow with a pillowy white head...
Aroma is vibrant....nice blend of spicy/floral notes and citrus (lemons)...
Big lemony flavor....malts add more of a Bohemian malt feel to this than German Pils. Nice soft malt, rich malt that holds up nicely to the big hop load. Hops bring a lot of lemon but also more a traditional pils flavor as well with some evident floral/spicy hop flavors.
Medium bodied...clean....
Kind of a hybrid German Pils/Americanized Pils. Great tasting beer. Well done.

This beer pours a clear yellow with a solid head. The aroma is very light with notes of lemon peel, bread dough, and aloe. The flavor is semi sweet upfront, with dough and light cracker malts, with a tingly hint of citrus and grass. The mouthfeel is light and crisp, with gentle, bubbling carbonation. Overall this is a nice, easy drinkign beer, with a very inviting aroma. I would love a slightly drier finish, but still quite nice.

Pours a bright yellow with a touch of green, and a pure white head. Smells floral and grassy, with a strong biscuit malt character. Tastes very hoppy for a pilsner, with strong floral notes and a touch of lemon. Slightly sweet with a nice malt backbone. Very bright, bubbly, and light mouthfeel. Far from a traditional pilsner, but good.
