Very dark brown with some ruby-red around
the edges, very clear. Thick, light-brown
head forms on top with nice lacing on the
glass. Aromas of warm vanilla, light oak,
earthy spice, and floral honey notes.
Medium sweet with balanced bitterness, a
touch of warm vanilla on the finish add to a
slightly sweet lingering taste. Surprisingly
refreshing for being a dark beer, but full
bodied and silky smooth on the finish.

12oz can. Poured out an opaque, black color with a small, light brown head of foam. It left minimal lacing. It smelled of chocolate, roasted malt and toffee. Sweet chocolate taste with roasted coffee, toffee and some caramel.

Bear Creek Porter pours a dark translucent brown, with a small, long-lasting head. The aroma has notes of vanilla extract. The flavor has a mild roasted flavor, hints of vanilla mixed in. Good feel. Overall, a pretty solid, no frills porter.

Poured from can into a shaker glass - dark ruby colour. Feels smooth on the tongue, taste is...oh I forgot already, need to take another sip. Malty up front, fading into roast bitterness. I am not getting their notes of vanilla and honey, but the oak is there, I suppose, if you think hard enough (I thought it was the malt roast). Oh well, not the worst.

L-Dark brown...flat pour from the can
S-Mild roastiness
T-The brewery description notes vanilla and I have to guess that was added. It is definitely there on the taste but not overpowering. Roasted malts..
F-There is a lingering artificial vanilla flavor on the palate...a bit thin for a porter.
O-Nothing impressive with this one. I'm sure people will drink it and like it but too much artificial vanilla and too thin in body. Average at best.
