Poured into a Pint Glass
Appearance - Dark Red with a Mild Haze. Head has a strong orange tinge to it and has good retention. No carbonation to speak of either.
Smell - Piney Hops, Yeasts, Biscuits, Orange Peels and Resin. Very hoppy smelling for an Amber Ale
Taste - Piney Hops, Resin, Barley, Biscuits and Yeast. Taste is like a Mild IPA with some biscuit notes, but the hops are still the strongest flavor here. The flavor is simple but incredibly good!
Mouthfeel - Body is a bit heavier than expected and there is some mild carbonation. It is however quite drinkable and reasonably crisp.
Overall - I need to start sampling beers from Minnesota's North Shore more often, because I enjoyed this beer alot! Castle Danger, like Borealis Fermentery, is a very small brewery in what I consider to be a very remote part of Minnesota; I cannot wait to try out even more beers from not only this brewery but others like it.
