Bottle to tulip.
The appearance was a cloudy pale orange color with a finger's worth of dieing foamy head that left just a touch of lace running here and there.
The aroma had some citrus sweet pulp and some bready to caramel malts.
The flavor was sweet throughout the entire pour. Totally long sweet sort pulpy aftertaste.
The mouthfeel was medium bodied. Those caramel malts do the trick to add body, though. But too bad, we live in a time when caramel malts aren't used as much. Anyways, well, the carbonation did feel fine in this. ABV felt appropriate.
Overall, call it an "old school DIPA" if you will, me, well, I probably wouldn't turn one down of these if offered, but not exactly one to seek out.

Picked up a bomber from TW Arrowhead in mid-January for $6.99. No freshness date visible but it was received at TW on 1-11-16.
Beer poured orange with a decent white head upon the initial pour.
Nose is fresh squeezed citrus.
Taste is orange with some grapefruit peel and a touch of pine resin in the finish. Moderate residual resin left behind.
Feel is full, somewhat creamy and somewhat prickly - i like it!
Overall this is a nice beer with some good qualities. I am finding more and more i do not enjoy the residual resin that some IPA's leave behind - this is not bad in that regard. Give it a shot if has been refrigerated. I suspect this is a one and done kind of brew.

Round 1-Look
Golden and bit cloudy in color and clarity with a minimal tan head
Round 2-Aroma
Caramel, wood and malt
Round 3-Flavor
Clean sweet maltiness and a smooth bready finish
Round 4-Feel
Creamy mouthfeel and woody finish
Results
Lost Coast offered a non-traditional IPA by making the hops a role player rather than a starter. In this brew, malted barley fans will appreciate it.

Chill hazed amber colored ale with a medium-ish white colored head.
Smells strongly of citrus fro,m a distance. Strong scent of oranges. Oranges on fresh cut pine board. Smells sweet and slightly of grapefruit. Slight scent of menthol.
Starts out a little sweet and quite woody at first. Astringent after taste. Distinct chest warming. Slight taste of burnt sugar.
Mouthfeel is good.
Smells better than it tastes, needs more dry hopping.

Everything about this beer for the Wedt Coast style is good. Spot on. 5 weeks young in the bottle. Orange marmalade and apricot citrus in the nose and taste. Light pine in the back and soft malt makes this a very easy drinking 8.5%. Prototypical solid WC DIPA. Recommended. Doesn't do anything out of the norm, but doesn't mean this beer wasn't damn good.
Cheers!

Pours a murky golden-orange with a foamy bone head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Foamy rings of lace line the glass on the drink down. Smell is of citrus fruit, citrus zest, and grapefruit juice aromas. Taste is much the same with citrus zest, grapefruit juice, and earthy hop flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a very good beer that is tasty and easy to drink.

Pours into an impy pint glass a clear medium golden with a large fluffy white head atop.Cleaner aromas with citrus fruit and grassy hops standing out,not alot of sweetness wich is encouraging.Leafy/minty hop flavors with some citric/stone fruit notes as well,a leaner more clean malt base with some sugary sweetness in the finish, for the style not to sweet.Another pleasant surprise tonight.

Poured into a Great Divide cervoise glass.
Look: Light caramel colored body, opaque. A frothy light cream colored head, great retention. Random thick bands of lacing.
Aroma: Spicy, woody (cedar), yet a nice apricot fruitiness that balances everything out. Spicy hops on the back end.
Taste: A solid malt body covered in cinnamon spiciness from hops. A faint fruitiness (peach, apricot) comes in before the finish. The finish has a dry, cedar woodiness.
Mouthfeel: Medium to heavy, dry.
Overall: Pretty approachable and that tiny bit of fruitiness goes a long way. I like it a lot.
