Pours a deep dark brown color, with not much of head to speak of.

Aromas are faint at best. A bit of cocoa on the nose, but not much else.

While this beer was pretty uninteresting to look at and smell, the taste is pretty nice. There are some solid porter flavors, chocolate, dark roasted malts, and some light ground coffee flavors. Finish is crisp, with a slight bitter hint from the hops.

Mouthfeel is above average, pretty full up front, but a touch weak on the finish. Still pretty nice though...

Drinkability is pretty good. An interesting porter, that tastes good, but could use some refining in my opinion...

This just went on tap with the chocolate porter and the java porter. I think this was the base for the other two.

App: Black with a ruby red outline and light tan/off white head that sits about 1 finger high. The head retention is impressive and the lacing is nice.

Smell: There's not much going on in the nose. Some slight caramel, and some light hops, but nothing roasty or dark.

Taste: Fruity sweet malts take over teh taste with intense caramel and a light hoppage similar to goldings. There's a very sligh chocolate character that is overshadowded by biscuit and butterscotch. I can pick out some tannins too that detract, and it is very very fresh. It might improve a little with some rest.

Mouthfeel: The body is great and thick with very good carbonation and a light hop bitterness. Impressive.

Drinkability: Very easy to drink because the alcohol is cover with intricate layers of malt flavor. it's an impressive porter, but could use some taste adjustments. I want to get back and try the other two.
