On tap at St. Augustines in Vancouver.

A: 1/4" tan coloured head over black/cola coloured liquid.

S: Chocolate, coffee, and toasted malt.

T: Coffee and toasted malt up front with a tasty chocolate finish and a hint of licorice.

M: Medium viscosity and a relatively high level of carbonation.

O: A nice balance of malt, quite drinkable.

Poured from a bottle into a chalice at the Sugar Bowl in Edmonton.

A - deep black in color with some ruby notes at the edges, less than half finger tan head, and leaves some slim linear lacing in the glass

S - smoky with a hint of bready malt on the nose

T - mild initial grassy hops interwoven in with a big smokey and chocolate backbone; more subtle than I would have expected. Finishes moderately quickly

M - surprisingly light with only mild carbonation and slight booziness

D - quite drinkable, likely because it's only moderate intensity

A decent imperial stout, but a little less intense than I would have expected/normally look for.

Consumed February 12th, 2011 at Blue Palms, Hollywood, CA.

Hard to see the exact shade of this beer in the subdued light of the bar, but it is for all intents and purposes opaque black. The head is dark tan and composed of extremely fine and uniform bubbles. Beautiful.

Aroma is made up of mildly sweet oatmeal and bitter baker's chocolate. Delicious.

Flavor is much like aroma, though more intense. Oatmeal starts with mild sweetness before segueing into dark, mildly bitter chocolate. Slight flavor note of alcohol and a dash of cherry.

Mouthfeel is clean with plenty of carbonation tingle. Finish is fairly clean as well, almost evaporative; a neat trick when you think about the ABV.

EXTREMELY drinkable and worth making regularly, Lost Coast!
