Appealing dark amber in the glass. Modestly foamy, but well carbonated on the tongue. Surprisingly light body, more like a lager. A sharpish mouthfeel.
A hint of something like cloves, so I guess the esters are at work. Tangier than you might expect for a Dunkel. On the whole, really more like an American Light Wheat with a touch of dark roasted malt. No more than a hint of the usual caramel flavors. Sharp, light, crisp are the key attributes.
Another interesting example of the Texan-brewed German styles you find here. A decent-enough quaff, but not much for the style. On tap at the brewpub in Marble Falls.
