Very impressive brewpub that has a very cozy atmosphere. There are about 9-10 beers on tap with a couple drawn from the hand pump taps. The selection of beers is quite good across the board. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about their beers. The meals served are quite good. This brewpub is well worth checking out.

Visted here on a cold Sunday afternoon last week for a few beers and a feed.
Nice old historic hotel that is divided into a few different areas but we ate and drank in the main bar area.
Got there just before the lunch time crowd so service was very quick.
Started out with the Mt Macedon Ale which was nice and fresh & followed up with the new cheesily named Hopinator DIPA which I drank while eating a dark ale pie & chips...ok but nothing special.
What was special was the "Temptress" Chocolate Porter from the handpump. Get it while you can!
A variety of beer styles & quick, friendly service are always a winning combination. Worth a visit for sure.

What a cool little pub!

here's my day trip for you:
drive from Melbourne to Woodend. Check out some of the historical stuff around there, and then go to the brewhouse for lunch. I didn't try any food, but it looked and smelled good. The beer is quite tasty, too! For $10 you can try a sample platter with 6 beers. It's well worth the money. Some beers are just OK, but a few are memorable. Like the Mahogany Brown beer. Really good.

Anyways, once you're done here, you're not done. Bridge Road brewery is not far away, and neither is Jameison Brewery.
