Poured from a can into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a hazed orange amber color with a small head of puffy white foam. The head has a good level of retention, fading over time and leaving a ton of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is strong of a pineapple and papaya smell mixed with lots of tangerine and orange. Along with these smells comes a strong showing of pine and herb as well as a bit of grapefruit and floral hop. Other smells of hay, lemon, and a touch of melon round it out, producing a rather inviting aroma overall.
Taste – The taste begins with a sweeter tangerine and orange flavor mixed with some of the tropical fruit that was in the nose. At the start there is a rather decent showing of pine and herb, with the later getting stronger as the taste advances. Flavors of melon and berry develop as the taste advances and are joined by grapefruit and a light earthy hop. Toward the end of the flavor profile comes a bit of hay and lemongrass as well as a surge of the pine, leaving one with a moderately malty and sweet, but well hopped-up taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is thick and chewy with a carbonation level that is moderate. For the style and the tastes, the feel is rather well done and makes for a easy sipper.
Overall – A rather tasty and enjoyable brew overall. A nice hazy IPA with big flavor and a great drinkability.
