Poured from a can into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a ruby-brown color with a small tan colored head of foam. The head fades fast leaving just a trace of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma of the brew is big of a sweet caramel and lightly toasted bready smell. Along with these smells comes a good showing of some spice of nutmeg and cardamom as well as a little bit of a nutty smell.
Taste – The taste begins with a sweet lightly toasted bready tastes that has a nice showing of some nuttiness as well as a bit of molasses. As the taste advances more sweetness of a caramel and toffee nature join in the taste along with some spice of nutmeg, cinnamon and coriander. A touch of earth and herbal hop come at the end, leaving one with a roasty and toasty taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is medium in thickness and creaminess with a carbonation level that low. The feel is quite nice for the style and makes for a slow sipper.
Overall – a rather nice winter warmer overall with a good blend of roast, sweet, spice, and feel.
