Pours a medium to dark brown with a quarter inch off white head that hung around for a while and left blotchy lacing. Smells of coffee, chocolate and vanilla. Taste is fairly sweet with lactose, espresso, chocolate, vanilla and a dryness that I would liken to cocoa powder. Light to medium bodied, lightly carbonated and a slightly dry finish.

 

Poured into a becher pint glass, the appearance was a semi-dark brown color with a finger’s worth of white to off white foamy head that dissipated at a decent pace. Subtle messy clingy lace. The aroma seems to hit upon some sweet coffee notes, somewhat espresso like and then bitter to roasty tones developing into a sly crisp cocoa malt underneath. The flavor seems to hit upon a roasty to sweet chocolatey to cocoa bean-like dryness slyly running into the aftertaste and finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Mild carbonation. ABV felt fine. Overall, well good for me, seems worthy of having again.
