Pours a clear amber/caramel color. A modest frothy head dissipates quickly.
A lot of caramel and toffee aromas dominate the nose. Nutty and with a bit of roasty qualities that evoke cocoa. There is also a light smoky aroma.
As with the aroma, there is a strong toffee and caramel taste that lends to moderate sweetness. However, there is a moderate yet bold bittering hops presence that balances things out. Significant alcohol spice and a smoky/peaty quality add to the complexity.
Medium bodied but drinks rather lightly, due to the alcohol, and smoothly. Gentle carbonation with a dry and bright citrusy hops flavor finish.
I thought this was rather tasty. Surprised it’s not rated higher.

Dark brown, just a veil of a scarce beige foam.
Peated smell, yes, but overall, diacetyl.
Not too clean in general.
Even fruity notes, like grape, frankly unnecessary.
Almost chewy. And forgettable.

Pours very dark brown with a foamy beige head that slowly recedes to a rich sticky lace.
Peat in the smell, didn't expect that, rushed in without reading the label. A nice surprise for me. Nice and smoky, like salty meat, peat is nicely clear, some random dark fruit, faint dark chocolate and some nut.
Peaty smokey malts mixed in with a copious amount of caramel up front, leading to some raisin and fig, dried orange peel, a bit of chocolate and then a big dark bready feel. Peat tends to disappear towards the finish, leaving slightly smoked roasted malts, some peanut and more than decent herbal spicy hops.
Medium bodied, soft carbonated. Alcohol is hidden, so much that it lacks the bit of bunch to make this beer remind of Scotch. Dark fruity aftertaste with dark bread, some hop and faint smoke.
A nice take on the style, with some nice notes that should've been a bit more intense to really impress. More than decent eitherway.
