330 ml bottle into pint glass, best before 7/2016. Pours fairly pitch black color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense brown head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, toast, dark bread, light smoke/char, raisin, plum, herbal, and roast/yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with solid balance of dark/roasted malt, earthy hop, and yeast ester notes; with decent strength. A bit too fruity on the nose, but not bad. Taste of dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, toast, dark bread, light smoke/char, herbal, light fruitiness, and roast/yeast earthiness. Moderate amount of roasted/earthy hop bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, toast, dark bread, light smoke/char, and roasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Good balance and robustness of dark/roasted malt and earthy hop flavor; with a good roasted bitterness/sweetness balance and zero astringent flavors after the finish. Very restrained amount of yeast character in the flavors. Medium carbonation and body; with a smooth, crisp, and fairly creamy/chalky mouthfeel that is good. Light-moderate dryness on the finish. Alcohol is well hidden with zero warming present after the finish as expected of 5%. Overall this is a very solid dry stout style. Good balance and robustness of dark/roasted malt and earthy hop flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

Black pitch color. Cappuccino like foam.
Cocoa and toasted malt, and a light coffee in the smell.
In the mouth again a good dusty cocoa, well balanced, easy, with cocoa and toasted notes.
Light body, some hop hint.
Again cocoa in the aftertaste, not too dry, but also not too sweet. Some background coffee.
Easy stout, but well done.

A. Poured a deep chocolate, with a nice creamy two finger lingering head, good lacing on the glass.

S. Dark roasted malts coffe, chocolate, carmel.

T. Sweet up front with chocolate carmel and coffee notes, then turning bittersweet chocolate.

M. One word Creamy. This was the best attribute of the brew the texture was silky and creamy. The carbonation was spot on, and the duration was medium as well.

O. I liked this brew and I will have a couple more of these on my visit to notheren Italy.
