750ml bottle into snifter.

A: Clear raspberry iced tea color with a fizzy cap of foam that quickly disappeared into nothing.
S: Earthy raspberry and damp woody musty attic nose with a blast of tartness and of touch of red vinegar.
T: Bramble patch earthy raspberry flavor with a solid puckering tartness and very subtle sweetness near the finish. Super drying aftertaste and plenty of gritty tannins. Hints of red grape skins musty attic oak, earthy leafy bramble patch and a touch of apple cider vinegar.
M: Medium body with a crisp and super dry mouthfeel, clean sharp tartness, and moderate level scrubbing carb.
O: Another great raspberry sour. Not overly sweet with a nice tannic earthy raspberry flavor (as opposed to jammy preserves). Very drying and tannic in a good way with scrubbing carb.

Pours from the attractive 750 mL bottle a dull ruby-purple. A reasonably aggressive pour only produces a half-finger of head with large bubbles that dissipates fairly quickly. Smell is of raspberry and acetic tartness, so I'm expecting a big sour hit on the palate that doesn't quite materialize. Instead, I get a fairly muted, delicate sour with soft vanilla and more sweetness from the raspberry than most framboises. The bourbon provides a bit of spicy character on the mid-palate, leading to a moderately dry, pleasant finish that has me going back regularly for another sip. My general impression is that this is a very well-crafted, BBA raspberry sour, not overly complex but quite appealing. I'm glad I haven't sat on it for more than a year, though, as it's already fairly mellow and subdued.
