Red hued, light brown color. Appears to be clear. Moderate head which settles to rim bubbles. Some minor spots for lace.
Semisweet, semi-sour aroma. Lots of darker cherries.
The flavor is more tart than sweet. The cherry taste is subdued but clearly present. Neutral body with a lower carbonation level. Moderate aftertaste. Reasonably close to the Belgian Krieks.

neat beer, always fun to find something new (to me) from logsdon. this is brick red, maybe even deeper, and its a little dim from the tap, but a cool colored beer. its a blend of sour quad in bourbon, flanders red in french oak, and blonde saison type, all refermented on cherries. not as lambic-esque and bretty as a lot of their stuff, not even all that sour, enough of the richer abbey type malts from the quad to balance that out, but its got some cool nuance, and the cherry part is deep and red and earthy and authentic, but never all that sweet. i get some wine to it, a vanilla nuance maybe from the bourbon barrels, and a little bit of a yeast ester too beyond the souring and funky elements. its not as malty as it sounds like it should be on paper, the quad doesnt make it heavy or bready, just adds depth. less of the flemish sort of vinegar sour than expected too, i get almost more tartness from the fruit than i do from that thread of the blend, at least i think so. i could stand some more carbonation in this, but i like the long trajectory of the taste, and the cherries come out more later, and more as it warms, complex but in a subtle way. very solid overall, i think it comes together well but each part of the blend can still be appreciated. not overly tart at all. such a great brewery!
