A - Dark ruby red/brown. Nice head and lacing...particularly for a growler pour.
S - Subtle chocolate upfront and the cherry stands out nicely vs the malty, roasty porter backbone.
T - Very enjoyable. The beer name is complicated, but it is very drinkable and smooth. Initial chocolate in the taste and then the cherry plays well vs the body of the beer. The cherry isn't strong enough to make the beer sour.
M - Smooth beer and the flavors mesh well. The carbonation is evident but not overpowering. The beer name sounds like a dessert beer, but I enjoyed it with a filet, and it was a very nice pairing.
O - Overall, A nice beer from a brewery that I have come to really appreciate. Very drinkable despite the heavy sounding name. AC is one of the more creative outfits that I have run across in the Carolinas....and they make good beer.

Big thanks goes out to cmrillo for sharing this one during the BASC '11 release! Served from growler into a Duck-Rabbit snifter. Poured a massively dark brown with a minimal cream colored head. There was no lacing evident throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, cherry, chocolate, and wood. The flavor was of sweet malt, cherry, dark chocolate, subtle roasted malt, wood, and earth. It had a medium feel on the palate with medium carbonation. Overall this was a decent brew. The cherry and chocolate notes were definitely evident in this one as I'm sure they wanted it to be. However, for this to be a porter the roasty aspect of this one was a little muted for my taste. It was still quite enjoyable and easy to drink. I wouldn't guess the alcohol would be very high on this one either. Definitely worth trying if you get the chance. Tick.
