Massive thanks goes out to BRoss242 who shared this one with the group at the "Evening Wood" tasting graciously hosted by cmrillo! Served from growler into a Mikkeller flute. Poured a deep ruby reddish brown with a minimal off-white head. There was no lacing evident throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, wood, and smoke. The flavor was of sweet malt, wood, smoke, and caramel. It had a medium feel on the palate with mild carbonation. Overall this was a decent brew. The smokiness I got on this one really added a nice touch to the base style and made it more enjoyable for me. While this was not very complex it was quite nice on both the flavor and aroma aspect. The mouthfeel was spot-on for the style as well. Glad I got the chance to give this one a try! Tick.
