Out of the growler into a New Belgium snifter, it looked like a typical stout in appearance....nice dark pitch. Smelled of chocolate, some vanilla, slightly roasty... Taste was delicious and different. I had not had a stout sour before. Definitely picked up on some chocolate, vanilla, and roasty malts...which was different, but it worked well with the overall sour component of the beer. NIce mouthfeel....not overly carbonated, but I, personally, like sour beers on the lesser side of carbonated. Overall, a very nice beer and very drinkable. I think the abv was close to 7%, but you wouldn't know it. Very smooth, and the body of the stout matched up well against the sour.

Shared by someone during BRoss242’s send-off party before he moves! Will miss you man! Served from growler into a Mikkeller taster flute. Poured pitch black with a minimal off-white head. Maintained decent lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, sour, dark chocolate, vanilla, and wood. The flavor was of sweet malt, sour, vanilla, dark chocolate, and wood. It had a light feel on the palate with medium-high carbonation. Overall this was a decent brew. I had never knew that Ass Clown had done this brew, but I was intrigued when I first found out that it was at this massive tasting. Upon first inspection I thought this wasn’t going to be too bad as you definitely had the sour note with a nice background of solid stout going on. I was right. Nice notes of stout with a kiss of sour to add another level of depth. However, I’m not a big fan of the whole souring stout movement, so I’m a little hostile to it. Granted this one is a step in the right direction if this movement takes off. Tick.
