Bought from local grocery store in Montreal, QC for $6.50. Came in a 473ml can. Instructions were to drink from can and turn upside down and rotate before drinking, which is exactly what I did. This is part of their "Série Laboratoire" (Laboratory series) in which they experiment with new recipes. No.6 they've tried so far. 100% Amarillo hops in this one, wild yeasts, wheat, oats, and barley.
Appearance: What I could see from the can was a golden clear liquid with significant carbonation.
Aroma: Definitely some wild yeasts, most possibly brett. Farmhouse, urine, diaper.
Flavor: Citrusy, tart, tangy. A pale ale backbone with saison notes upfront. Wild yeasts and barn flavor in the mix. Noticeable bitterness on the finish. Pale ale notes linger in the mouth.
Mouthfeel: High acidity. Moderate to heavy carbonation picks the tongue. Medium bodied. Finishes on the dry side.
Overall: I really liked this one. A nice mix of a pale ale, and a saison. The saison bites first with it's sharp acidity, transitioning into the pungent wild yeasts, then fades into a more down-to-earth and bitter pale ale. A bit on the tart side to drink too quickly, but would make a nice summer drink, especially on a hot day. A beer that would make a good "treat" now and then. I respect these high acidity beers but can't drink too many at once.
A solid beer in which I didn't find much fault other than the tartness of the saison can overwhelm the pale ale.
I do recommend this one.
