Appearance: Arrives as copper as a new penny, with a modest but thick head of foam; nice lacing action

Smell: Caramel and piney hop resins

Taste: The interplay between the caramel and piney resin dominates the front end, with the bitterness building in the middle and through the finish; still, the interplay lingers into the aftertaste

Mouthfeel: Full body with moderate carbonation

Overall: A really nicely crafted DIPA; particularly well-balanced without going overboard either with sticky malt or aggressive bitterness

This is how imperial IPAs should be done. A nice balance between malt and hops....Correction. A perfect balance between malt and hops. Bitter enough to know it is an imperial, but not too bitter that it lingers for several days. Same with the malt. Sweet, but not so sweet it hurts your teeth.

I look forward to this being on tap and find myself craving it.
