Poured from the tap into a pint glass. The appearance is a clear dark brown to black with a small tan head. The aroma is malt, coffee and smoky molasses. The taste is roast malt with coffee and molasses.

Served up in draft form in a pint glass at Crossroads. Jet black in color with a tan head. Taste of this brew is a mix of chocolate and dark colored fruits. There is a nice steady hoppiness in the back of the hearty malt. A great pint. I think I'll have another.

Pours an opaque dark chocolate brown just a few shades above sable - didn’t get much head, and lacing is minimal. Smoky aroma has hints of molasses, cinnamon and coffee. Flavor has a core of roast malt with notes of cinnamon, coffee, brown sugar and licorice. Texture has good firmness and fizz, leaving a smoky finish that has brown sugar and cinnamon hints.

From a cask at the 2015 Atlanta Cask Ale Tasting.
This is "a traditional brown porter brewed with flaked oats for added smoothness, and infused with rum-soaked dark raisins, Indonesian cinnamon bark and a touch of vanilla to emulate a freshly baked oatmeal raisin cookie." The aroma lives up to the description remarkably well: this does indeed smell pretty much like an oatmeal raisin cookie. The flavor has more of a sense of dark bread but still carries the cookie properties of the aroma. Lightly sweet.
