West Coast Rye IPA.
A collaboration with our friends at Biggerstaff Brewing, this old school West Coast IPA was bittered with CTZ co2 extract and hopped with US Willamette and NZ Pacific Jade hops throughout the boil, imparting flavors of pepper, wood, and spice that pairs perfectly with the copious amount of rye used. We collaborated this beer together to help it zest. celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the album, "Beneath Medicine Tree" from the alternative indie rock band Copeland.

Had Beneath Medicine Tree West Coast Rye IPA at Wrecking Bar Brewpub, Atlanta, on draft into willi becher, and also poured from pint can, label hand-marked Canned: "4/14[/2023]," into nonic pint.
Pours deep, almost amber gold with clarity and 1-finger (on draft) to huge (from can), off-white verging on light-tan head, with good (draft) to excellent (can) retention, leaving nice rings of (from the can chunky) Belgian lace down the glass. Aromas of grassy hops and mild malt off pour, and orchard fruit as warms. On tasting, begins with a nice peppery hop bite, over a little creamy malt, then a ton of juicy, sweet, full-bodied orchard fruit arrives, carrying into a nicely hop and rye bitter but creamy, malty finish.
Classicly-fruity West Coast IPA, maltier than typical, but with the rye adding a peppery, spicey punctuation mark.
