Appearance: Clear, light coppery body with a half-inch head, slightly off-white in color. Good amount of lace on the way down.
Smell: Das Hopfen is crammed with Continental hops, giving a strong, heavy herbaceous, grassy aroma, like sniffing up a just-opened bag of hop pellets.
Taste: Bready Vienna maltiness, faint, faint toastiness, and a nearly no imparted sweetness. A full-on earthiness and astringency akin to way oversteeped tea follows, along with a pinch of powderized pith. Strongly bitter. Remains heavily herbal long past the bitter finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Half a notch beyond medium carbonation.
Overall: Personally, I preferred the previous "Amber" IPA and King Louie, as those two had more balance to them. Sure, sure, I know it's an IPA, supposed to be hop-forward and all, but, still, it's nice to have a little malty pleasure with my bitter hop pain.

Comes out of the tap a clear coppery amber with a fairly thick off-white head. Hoppy aroma has a strong fruity overtone. Flavor is strongly hoppy with minimal bitterness and woody and fruity notes. Above-average body has an edgy and fizzy texture and leaves a pleasant woody, fruity finish.
